Welcome to Sophiebooks. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your purchase of any products from us. By placing an order with Sophiebooks, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

1. About Us

Sophiebooks is an online bookshop offering titles in three formats: e-book (digital download), audiobook (digital delivery), and print-on-demand physical copies. We are based in the United Kingdom and these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Products and Formats

Each title may be available in one or more of the following formats:

E-book: delivered digitally to the email address provided at checkout, or made available for download via your account.
Audiobook: delivered digitally as a downloadable or streamable audio file.
Print-on-demand: a physical copy printed and shipped on your behalf by our print partner, Cloudprinter, once your order is confirmed.

Product descriptions, cover images and formats are provided as accurately as possible, but we do not warrant that all details are entirely error-free.

3. Orders and Payment

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Prices are displayed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud or pricing errors. Payment is taken in full at the time of order.

4. Digital Products (E-books and Audiobooks)

By purchasing a digital product, you acknowledge and agree that:

Digital content is delivered immediately (or shortly) after payment is confirmed.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, your statutory right to cancel a distance sale within 14 days does not apply once you have consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that this cancellation right is lost upon download or access.
Digital files are for personal use only and may not be resold, redistributed, or shared publicly.
If you experience a technical issue with a download or file, contact us and we will resolve it or provide a refund where appropriate.

5. Print-on-Demand Products

Physical copies are produced individually via our print partner, Cloudprinter, once an order is placed. Please note:

Production typically takes [X–X business days], followed by shipping, which may vary depending on your delivery location.
Because each copy is printed specifically for your order, print-on-demand items are not eligible for return unless the item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect.
Minor variations in print colour, paper stock, or binding may occur between print runs due to the nature of on-demand printing.
You are responsible for providing a correct delivery address. Sophiebooks is not liable for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect address details provided at checkout.

6. Returns and Refunds

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these Terms. For details on returns, refunds and how to request them, please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content sold through Sophiebooks, including text, audio narration, cover artwork and formatting, is protected by copyright and remains the property of the respective authors, publishers, narrators or licensors. Purchasing a product grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access and enjoy the content — it does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sophiebooks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or products. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Sophiebooks shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
